ANTI-AGING TIPS FOR MEN...

Male skin has a thicker epidermis, that is why the facial hair is rougher and thicker, sebaceous glands produces more sebum.

Therefore, male skin should be cleansed daily in order to remove the sebum and prevent it from clogging the pores, which will lead to the formation of pimples and blackheads.

In order to maintain the skin smooth and youthful look, and to postponed the appearance of wrinkles, the face should be scrubbed twice a day and hydrated daily after cleansing.

TIPS ON DAILY CARE:
  • CLEANSING: Use special cleansing product that does not contain soap. Rub a little bit of the product onto moist skin in order to create nice, thick foam. Rinse completely.
  • SCRUBBING: Perform this procedure twice a week, it helps in preventing the in growth of the hair and refresh faded, tired skin by removing the layer of dead cells. Use an exfoliating gel, rub it gently unto your whole face and rinse.
  • TONING: Splash some cold water on your face or apply tonic lotion in order to close the pores and create suitable surface to apply moisturiser.
  • MOISTURISER: This is the most important part ant -aging in men. Men with dry skin should use moisturiser that are not fat-based. Dryness of the skin in men is a result of dehydration.
  • INCREASE YOUR WATER LEVEL: Drink two liters of water each day, eat more fruits and vegetable. If wrinkles are already present on your face, its time to start using anti- aging products with adequate sun protection, since the sun prematurely ages the skin.

REFRESHING A TIRED FACE WITH MAKEUP...

When a person is tired and exhausted, it is sure to show on their faces. Makeup is a great ally in covering up fatigue as long as you know how to use it. It is not the quantity of make up that will help you cover up the signs of sleepless nights, but the wise combination of colors.

For red eyes
Bloodshot eyes are signs that you are in dire need of sleep. However if you still have a few hours of the work day to go, you will have to resort to makeup.

Skin with warm undertone: (Yellow or peachy complexion).

  • You can neutralize the effect of red eyes with a golden shadow and eye liner and or mascara.
  • Apply blush in sparkling champagne color around the eyes and on the cheekbones. This will open the eyes.
  • Mocha colored shades will refresh the look of your eyes.
  • Black mascara will create contrast and the redness of your eyeballs will be neutralized.
  • Trace the lips with a pencil lip liner in chocolate color and fill in with yellowish brown lipstick. Cover with light pink gloss.

Skin with cool undertone: (very dark brown complexion).
  • Use eye shadows and eye liner with blue undertones.
  • Apply eye shadow to the eyelid just below the eyebrow.
  • Accentuate on the base of the lid with dark blue or gray in order to open up the eye.
  • Outline your lips with plum colored pencil lip liner and fill in with lipstick the color of wild berries. Cover with clear lip gloss.
  • Avoid applying makeup in pink, violet or red tones.

For dark circles
In order to mask over dark circles you don’t need to use double amount of concealer, foundation and eye makeup. This will not help you hide fatigue. It will only make you look even worse,
Instead apply strong moisturising lotion to the area around the eyes and follow with a thin layer of concealer (with yellow or green undertones) and foundation.

To reduce the visibilities of dark circles:
  • Pay attention to shadows.
  • Forget about applying mascara to the lower lashes.
  • Do not use the same tone of eyeliner for outlining the whole lid. Apply eyeliner to the upper lid and the outer corner of the lower lid.
  • Avoid using shadows in peach, purple and dark tones.

Skin with warm undertones
  • Use golden tones on your upper eyelid just below the eyebrow
  • Apply sandy tones to your lid beneath the fold.
  • Outline the eye with warm brown or dark green eyeliner.
  • Apply brown or black mascara only to the upper lashes, because applying it to the lower lashes will only make the dark circles more visible.
  • Add a second layer of mascara only to the outer corner of your lashes in order to make the eyes look more open.
  • Highlight your lips with a light brown eyeliner and a beige gloss.

Skin with cool undertones
  • Apply cinnamon colored eye shadow below the eyebrows.
  • After that apply sandy nuances over the movable part of the lid.
  • Trace the eyes with eyeliner in black.
  • Use brown mascara for a softening effect.
  • Outline the lips with pencil lip liner in a neutral color and fill them in with a light-brown lipstick and gloss.

Questions and comments are greatly appreciated. Look forward to hearing from you.

MEN AND THEIR EYEBROWS...

Taking care of the eyebrow is not just a female thing. Men should also take care of their eyebrows.
Women take time to carve their brows but for men, you do not need to pluck each individual hair, is a once in a while event to maintain your eyebrow but should not be regarded as not important. Eyebrows are detrimental to the expression of your face.

  • Do not mess up those brows: Before you shape your eyebrows, always check the mirror to see if it is necessary. Try not to shape because others are, your maintenance is a matter of personal choice.
  • Hair  between the eyebrows: If you like the look of connecting eyebrows, you can keep it, however if the hair between is a lot , you can tweeze it out. Do not make the mistake of shaving your eyebrow, once it is shaved with razor or clipper, you would have to shave it daily. These methods of removal can cause irritation.
  • Long eyebrows: If the hairs of your eyebrow have the tendency to stick out, try to locate where the problem is, isolate the jutting hairs and clip  the extra away with a small manicure scissors. Try not to cut too short.
  • Thick eyebrows:  After taking a shower, brush your eyebrows in the direction of hair growth, then use tweezers to remove few of the extra hairs. Try not to tweeze more than one hair at a time. Keep tweezing to a minimum. Avoid removing hairs from the upper side of the eyebrow. Always work from the nose outwards.
NOTE:
  •   Do not use hair removal lotions, because the skin around the eyes is extremely sensitive.
  •   Never experiment hot wax mask at home it can be dangerous. Visit a beauty salon.
  •   Always keep your tweezers clean

CLEANING ACNE WITHOUT SPOTS...

Cleaning the skin is compulsory especially  when you have acne, blackheads or whiteheads. Firstly, you need to open the pores and unclog the outlet of  the skin's sebaceous glands.

When you have washed your face and steamed it, you can proceed toward the actual cleansing. Regardless of your skin type, you will have to rub your face with alcohol.

Use diluted rubbing alcohol for normal skin and an alcohol solution with a higher intensity for oily skin.

Attention! Never commence cleansing without washing and disinfecting your hand.

Utilize a sterile syringe needle, use the wide end of the needle, the one that the syringe goes into and place it over the comedo. Press it gently against your skin. The content of the comedo will come out painlessly. To conclude, rub your face with a 3% solution of hydrogen peroxide.

COMEDOis the primary sign of acne and consists of a widened hair follicle filled with keratin skin debris, bacteria, and sebum (oil)

MAKE AN IMPRESSION WITH YOUR EYES...

TIPS FOR RE-SHAPING THE EYES

No matter how carefully you apply your eye makeup, it will look awful if  the colors are wrong for you. The colors may be the latest fashion or even your favorite colors, but it will not look nice.

Below identifies your type of  eyes and what color of eye shadow to apply.

·         Close-set eyes: Applying a darker tone from the center of the eyelid outwards, beyond the outer corner, while you apply a lighter tone from center to the inner corners.

·         Small-eyes: Use a darker color in the crease of the socket and the upper part of the lid, then a lighter tone on the lid and highlight under the brows.

·         Prominent-eyes:  This needs a darker tone on the lid, going outwards and slightly upwards, also highlight under the brows with a light color.

·         Wide-set eyes: Apply a darker tone in the inner corner towards the center of the eyelid, and a lighter tone from the center outwards.

·         Droopy-eyes: Use a darker tone on the lids, going upwards in a wing-shape, then apply the highlighter under the brows.

TYPES OF FACES AND MAKE UP THAT FITS... PART 2

GETTING TO KNOW YOUR FACIAL STRUCTURE IS A PLUS WHEN APPLYING YOUR DAY MAKEUP…

  • SQUARE FACE: This a straight forehead and a square jaw line, a darker shade of foundation should be applied on the temples and sides of the face. This will tone down the wide corners of the face. Eye brows should be in a round shape. Creation of full lips is an added advantage in order to divert attention from the square jaw line.

  • LONG FACE: This face is long in the proportion to the width, usually with hollow cheeks, to reduce the length of the face, slightly thick eye brows with natural arch is needed.  Eye makeup should be aimed to achieve a wide- eyed look while eye liner should be applied from the center of the lid tilting it up to the outer corner of the eye. Lip line should be full and blush should be applied on the cheeks not higher than outer corner of the eye and not below the tip of the nose. A deeper shade of foundation should be applied across the jaw, chin and on top of the fore head to reduce the length of the face.

  • PEAR SHAPE: This shape of face has a wide jaw line and chin. To add width to the fore head and length for the face, eye brows should be shaped to create a higher arch on the outer ends. Blush on the cheekbone should be blended towards the jaw line while a deep color foundation should be applied on the sides to minimize the width of the jaw and also to achieve a slender look.

TYPES OF FACES AND MAKE UP THAT FITS... PART 1

HEY READERS, HOPE YOU HAD A FUN WEEKEND?

GETTING TO KNOW YOUR FACIAL STRUCTURE IS A PLUS WHEN APPLYING YOUR DAY MAKEUP…

TYPES OF FACES AND MAKE UP THAT FITS…

Facial structure should be analyzed to ascertain the facial type so that irregular features are made less noticeable. To achieve this, you must understand the basic face shape…

1.       OVAL FACE.
2.       HEART SHAPE.
3.       ROUND SHAPE.
4.       DIAMOND SHAPE.
5.       SQUARE SHAPE.
6.       LONG SHAPE.
7.       PEAR SHAPE.

OVAL FACE: This is said to be an ideal shape. It is the most balanced face that needs no corrective make up or special hair style. Eye brows should be shaped in its natural arch. Blush on the cheeks should be applied in a C shape and blended up to the outer of the eyes; while lipstick applied to the lower lips should be outlined to create fuller lips, and the natural line of the upper lips should be followed.

HEART SHAPE: This shape of face has a wide forehead and narrow chin. Apply a lighter shade of foundation on the width of the chin and jaw line, then apply a dark foundation to minimize the width of the forehead. Eye brows should be thick following the natural arch, but with a one eye distance between the brows. The natural lip line should be followed when applying the lipstick.

ROUND SHAPE: A round face has an almost equal width and length proportion. Adding length to the shape can give you an oval face which can be achieved by using a deeper shade of foundation on the sides, to give a slender look to the jaw, a dark color of foundation can be applied on the jaw line and under the cheeks. If blush is applied on the cheekbone and blended towards the temple area, cheeks will look narrow. Lipstick should be applied on the inside of the lip line while eye brows and eyes should be given a longer appearance with the help of the brow pencil.

DIAMOND FACE:  This facial type has a narrow forehead and chin with wide cheek bones. To achieve an oval face, reduce the extreme width of the cheeks by applying a darker shade of foundation to the outside of the cheekbones extending towards the outer corner of the eyes. A lighter foundation can be applied on the chin and forehead to create an illusion of the width to the face. Lip stick should be applied in the natural form of the lip line, while eye brows should be slightly apart from the center arch, and then follow the natural arch.
