MAKE UP CLASS 9: FOR INCREDIBLE LIPS...

It is IMPORTANT to take care of your lips. For me, the lips are the center of attraction...they say a lot about you....

Applying lipstick seems like the easiest thing in the world compared with the complicated application of the rest of your makeup.

There are women whom nature has given natural full lips, but for the rest of us, there are tricks to help us create and correct the size of our lips in other to make them tempting ;)

Every woman should strive towards healthy, smooth and soft lips. Below are tricks and technique you can use to get those perfect lips we all crave for.

·         If you have cracked lips, use a scrub on it or place a Q-tip in warm water over your lips for a few minute after which you can apply your lips stick or lip gloss.

·         For dried lips, hydrate them with a moisturiser lotion every morning and evening, this would soften them.

·         After blending of the foundation or face powder, use a pencil lip liner to outline your lips, tracing their natural curves. Always begin and the center of the upper lip and trace all the way to the opposite site. Apply your lipstick or gloss to the center of the lip in order to add shine

·         For fuller lips, trace with a light beige pencil, applying some to the inner corner of the lips as well. Apply lipstick of your choice.

·         For reduction of too full lips, trace with a beige pencil around the inner contour and cover up with a little bit of foundation.

·         If your upper lip is thinner than the lower lip, use two tones of pencil lip liner. The light tone should be used to trace the lower lip, and the darker tone to outline the contour of the upper lip.

NOTE: The color of your lips should be in harmony with the color of your outfit

Questions and comments are greatly appreciated. Look forward to hearing from you.

MAKE UP CLASS 8:BLUSH WITH EASE...

GOOD DAY READERS, I TRUST YOU HAD A PLEASANT WEEKEND. IT’S A NEW WEEK PACKED WITH NEW AND EXCITING MAKEUP TIPS… BRACE YOURSELVES!

LETS KICK OFF WITH THE BLUSH….

THE BLUSH: If there's one product in your makeup bag that can immediately brighten your complexion, it's the blush. In fact, your make up isn't complete until you've dusted a rosy glow across your cheeks.

The blush helps to make your beautiful face glow and look alive. This is one of the most flattering cosmetics applied to the face. It gives the impression of a soft healthy glow, an effect which benefits all ages. Blushers come in different colors, shades and texture.

Textures: They come in Gels, Liquid cream, Solid cream, Sticks, Pencils and Powder. The most popular and easiest to apply is the powder blusher.

Ways to apply blush: Application is fairly straight forward but it’s important to get it right as not to overdo the look.

·         Choose your brush: Whichever type you choose should match your natural color, so pick one that best reflects your color.

·         Purchase a blush brush: A blush brush is the best choice; never use a small, cheap brush. Avoid making use of items such as cotton wool balls or powder puffs as these do not work well.

 AN ANGLED BLUSH BRUSH

·         Do a fish face (i.e. pout your lips), and apply the blush: This helps you find the apple of your cheeks. Don't smile, that brings your cheeks up and can make your blush very low.

·         Apply the blush to the center of the apple on one side of your face blending the blush along side your cheekbone.  For the most natural look, always concentrate the color on the apples of your cheeks and blend well. And before blending, always dust off the excesses.

·         Brush downward at the end of blending, to allow the facial hairs to lie smoothly on your skin's surface.

·         For a more youthful look, make sure to apply the blush on each side not lower than your nostril and not closer to your nose than your pupil.

·         Repeat on your other cheek, taking care to match the placement and color of the blush on both cheeks.

·         If you accidentally apply too much powdered blush, cover it with translucent powder to tame the color.

Questions and comments are greatly appreciated. Look forward to hearing from you.
Have a blessed week...

MAKE UP CLASS 7: BEAUTY OF THE EYE SHADOW...

It’s another exciting edition of looking good with Sarah. Today we will be looking at the beauty of the eye shadow.

Eye shadow is a cosmetic that is applied on the eyelid just under the eyebrow; it adds compliments to the eye color and simply draws attention to the eyes.

Eye shadow comes in different color and texture which is usually made from powder but can also be found in pencil form.

Note: Before the eye shadow is applied to the eyes, it is advisable to make use of an eyeshadow primer.

Eye shadow primer: This is used to coat the eyelid prior to the application of the eye shadow so that it can be applied in a smooth, even layer for it to stay in place on the eyelid after the hustles of the day.

Most of the eye shadow primer comes in a tube or a small tub with shades that blend in with most skin tones. This is because the purpose of the primer is not to accent the eyelid with color, but to prepare them for eyeshadow that will serve that purpose.

Note these points before choosing an eye shadow

·         For day time, eye shadows should match your eyes or be one shade lighter

·         Bright colored eye shadows are better suited to evening wear.

·         Lightening the area under the eyebrows makes the eyes look bigger and brighter for matured women.

·         Small, deep set, eyes should avoid dark colors on the eye socket. Use only light eye shadows.

Basic tips on how to apply an eye shadow:

·         Choose an eye shadow that compliments your eye color

·         Apply your eye shadow primer

·         Choose three complementing eyeshadow colors that are light, medium and dark intensity. The medium color should be the base, the lightest color the highlighter and the darkest color the contour.

·         Apply the medium color into the main area of your eyelid that is directly over your eye ball. Sweep it slightly to the outside edge.

·         Apply the lightest color or highlighter underneath the eyebrow. Sweep it slightly out as you did the first color.

·         Apply a bit of the darkest color to the tip of the applicator, then apply a thin line starting from the inside corner of the eye and make the line wider as you move towards the outside of the eyelid.

·         Continue wit the darkest color just past the crease of your eyelid and bring the tip back to touch the outside edge of the eyelid.

·         Soften the line of the dark contour with a Q-tip and smudge it into the lashes slightly.

·         Blend eye shadow by stroking the lid gently with an eye shadow blending brush. Don’t use your finger; you could wipe off the shadow completely.

As usual, questions and comments are greatly appreciated. Look forward to hearing from you.
