MAKE UP CLASS 5: IT'S ALL ABOUT THE FOUNDATION...

Hello Readers,

Welcome to another exciting edition of looking good with Sarah. I trust you all had an exciting weekend.

Ok, on to the business of the day, shall we?

FOUNDATION! FOUNDATION!! FOUNDATION!!

When creating the perfect makeup, foundation cannot be omitted. It gives the tan an even, glowing and unblemished look. This is not its only advantage.

Foundation is a great base for eye shadows and blush. Eye shadows have a longer life and better coverage when applied to the lid already covered with a thin layer of foundation. It also creates a gentle protective layer over the skin and prevents dehydration, flaking and contamination.

Foundation is a skin colored cosmetic applied to the face to create an even, uniform color to the complexion, to cover flaws, and sometimes, to change the natural skin tone.

Foundation is used to give skin an even tone, to neutralize red cheeks, broken veins and freckles. It also provides the base for all other makeup; it makes their application easier and provides a surface to which they can adhere.

Textures are available in liquid, cream or solid form. The majority of these are oil- based, for use on dry, normal or combination skin. Water based foundation are specifically for oily skin. Liquid are the finest and therefore lightest of the three textures. They allow the normal skin tone to glow through and also give a smooth and natural look.

The advantage of good foundation

Maximum glow: The latest tendencies in makeup are to accomplish a fresh natural look. This is why products with discrete light coverage and enriched in vitamins and minerals are most popular. Light-reflecting substances play an important part in accomplishing this effect by hiding fine wrinkles and blemishes and giving the face a rested look.

Ask your skin:  Choose a tone in accordance with your own complexion and test it on your cheek bone or earlobe. Apply an even layer lightly patting with your fingers. If the color blends, this is your foundation. When choosing your foundation you should also consider your skin type.

  • ·         For mixed skin type or oily skin, use matting water-based, mousses or sticks with light coverage.
  • ·         For normal skin, use hydrating foundation with transparent or light-reflecting particles.
  • ·         For dry sensitive skin, use hydrating water- based foundation.
  • ·         For dry aging skin, use hydrating and nourishing foundation with anti-ageing properties, long lasting with a high coverage.

Questions and comments are greatly appreciated. Look forward to hearing from you.
Have a great week ahead!!!
