Happy
holiday readers, it’s been a rainy morning in this part of the world – compared
to the scorching heat this past few days, I’ll take the rain…
Our makeup
tip for today would be focusing on the concealer. So, pull out your writing
tools and let’s begin…
A concealer
is used to mask dark circles and other blemishes visible on the skin.
Concealers do a very good job by blending the imperfection into the surrounding
skin tone which can be used by both sexes.
Concealers
tend to be more heavily pigmented unlike foundation which is usually applied to
larger areas. Concealers can be used alone or in conjunction with foundation.
It is used to cover serious skin discolorations such as scars and birthmarks.
Concealers
are available in different shades (from light to deep tones). While some are
intended to look natural, others are meant to contrast with a particular type
of blemish.
Picking the
right concealer…
Bear in mind…
·
Thick
textured concealer is good for covering up dark circles and red splotches.
·
Light
textured concealer is better for small irregularities in complexion.
·
To
keep your concealer visible, it has to be 1 or 2 tones lighter than the tone of
your foundation, but still close to the tone of your skin.
·
Always
check the expiry date of your concealer.
Before concealing…
·
Treat
your face with moisturiser to make any correction less visible. If you conceal
without moisturiser and your skin is dry and flaky, concealer will fail to
cover up your blemishes and also highlight them.
·
For dark circles: Put your concealer at the base of
the eye close to the inner corner and draw the line outward. Pat in your
concealer, do not rub, this may
cause occasional swelling.
·
You
must be careful if you have fine wrinkles around your eyes, use a light-
textured concealer.
·
The
purpose of concealer is to conceal! So if you cover up all your flaws, but the
concealer remains visible, practice more.
Enjoy your holiday ;)
