Fuel Tanker Explosion kills 15 people in Apapa, Lagos, Nigeria.


At least 15 people including a pregnant woman lost their lives in Lagos on Tuesday night at about 11pm when a tanker laden with 33,000 litres of petrol lost control and rammed into vehicles at Kirikiri, Lagos.
The tanker spilt all its content, thereby causing the fire that burnt a branch of Sterling Bank at Berger Suya Bus Stop, one Automated Teller Machine, 11 vehicles and 60 shops.
A commercial bus (danfo) that was behind the tanker when it fell and exploded.
The petrol tanker suffered brake failure failure before bursting into flames. See pics after the cut...


General Manager, Lagos State Emergency Mnanagement Agency. Dr. Femi Oke-Osanyintolu confirmed that the victims were burnt beyong recognition, saying the petrol tanker was fully loaded which samersaulted and exploded.
